Oku Integrates BOB Gateway

Native Bitcoin, now inside one of DeFi's most advanced trading interfaces.

Oku is a non-custodial DeFi meta-aggregator with the best swap and bridge partners across 30+ EVM chains. Despite complete coverage of the EVM world, native Bitcoin was out of reach.

BOB Gateway changes that. By plugging into BOB Gateway, Oku extends its service beyond EVM for the first time: users can now swap native Bitcoin directly inside the interface they already use - with best-in-class BTC swap rates across 15+ chains.

“Bitcoin is the largest asset in crypto, and until now it sat outside the reach of most DeFi interfaces, ours included. Integrating BOB Gateway means our users can finally treat native BTC like any other asset: swap in, deploy it into DeFi, or take profits back to it, all non-custodially. Extending beyond EVM for the first time is a big step for Oku, and we're thrilled to integrate Bitcoin first." – Malcolm Wyllie, Growth Lead

Native BTC for power users

Oku's users are not passive holders. They place large swaps, move funds across chains, borrow against their collateral, and earn from vaults. It's a powerful platform for moving assets between ecosystems and putting them to work in DeFi.

But there's been one gap: no direct way in from Bitcoin - the most important cryptocurrency of all. WBTC and cbBTC already play a huge role in DeFi, and now users can go directly from native Bitcoin into those positions.

BOB Gateway is the only native BTC swap engine on Oku, running on an intent-based model: professional liquidity providers compete to deliver the best available rate, and native Bitcoin moves directly - with no custodian in the middle.

For a DeFi-native trader already using Oku for everything else, native BTC was the missing asset. Its addition unlocks a full set of use cases - including the most obvious one: taking profits back to Bitcoin.

BOB Gateway is built for developers and protocols to integrate via API, CLI and SDK - this is how integrations like this get built. Read the docs to kick-off the process.
