BOB Gateway now moves stablecoins across more chains

Stablecoins stopped being just a trading instrument a while ago. Supply is north of $300 billion, with USDC and USDT making up about 83%. Juniper Research puts cross-border B2B stablecoin payments at $13.4 billion this year, heading for $5 trillion by 2035.

They are the settlement layer underpinning most of crypto . So we're expanding support for stablecoin bridging and swapping on both the BOB Gateway app and API.

Stablecoins move crosschain on BOB Gateway

BOB Gateway is a swaps engine that powers seamless movement of assets across different chains. With stablecoins being the backbone of most DeFi ecosystems, they’ve also been one of the most requested additions from our integrators.

To meet this demand, 14 new stablecoin routes have been added to BOB Gateway. They fall into two categories: same-asset bridges and cross-chain swaps.

Same-asset bridges, where the token stays the same and the chain changes:

The second shape is the one worth pausing on. It settles as a single order, so the user isn't landed on a new chain holding the wrong token and left to find a DEX.

Backend for the payments infrastructure

Much stablecoin volume now looks like payments, not trading: payroll and contractor payouts, supplier invoices across borders, marketplaces settling to sellers, merchants taking dollars they can actually bank, treasury moving working capital. A growing share is real-world spend, with cards and payout rails settling in stablecoins behind the scenes.

All of it hits the same wall. In a payment the recipient picks the chain, not the sender. Your contractor holds USDT on BNB because that's what their exchange withdraws to; your treasury sits in USDC on Ethereum. You can't reply to an invoice asking someone to bridge first.

If you're building payouts, remittance, merchant settlement or treasury tooling on stablecoins, cross-chain movement isn't a feature you add - it's a backend you'd otherwise have to own. That's the part BOB Gateway covers.

Apps can tap into the full routing BOB Gateway offers via a single integration. Request a quote with a source chain, destination chain, source token, destination token, amount and recipient. Create the order that reserves liquidity. Send the transaction and follow status. Destination gas is estimated and deducted from the swap, so users don't need to hold the destination chain's native token to receive anything.
