By minting satUSD with BTC collateral on BOB, users can access instant liquidity without selling their assets. They can then stake satUSD for yield, participate in LP strategies, or even earn rewards through social engagement - all while maintaining exposure to their underlying Bitcoin.
What is River?
River is building a chain-abstraction stablecoin system designed to solve liquidity fragmentation in the multi-chain era, powered by an omni-CDP (Collateralized Debt Position) protocol that lets users deposit BTC, ETH, BNB, or LSTs on one chain and mint satUSD on another.
Users can participate in River in three main ways:
- Mint satUSD with BTC collateral on BOB
- Swap USDT for satUSD at 1:1 ratio
- Stake satUSD in the staking pool to receive satUSD+ and earn reward
- Deposit BTC into Smart Vault — a no-liquidation risk yield product that earns revenue directly

Meet the team
River was founded in 2024 by Ray Huang (Co-founder & CTO) and Satoshi Nakamoto/Naka (Co-founder & CEO) as Satoshi Protocol, before upgrading to River in May 2025.
Since launching on BOB in July 2024, River has achieved $600 million in TVL, $270 million in satUSD circulation, and over 50,000 stablecoin holders. The protocol has integrated with over 30 DeFi protocols including Euler, Oku, Gamma, and Segment, while expanding across BNB Chain, Base, Arbitrum, Hemi, and multiple Bitcoin L2s.
